      The potential of digitalisation can be used for smart city concepts. The focus here is on networking the energy and mobility infrastructure, but also on the general datafication of processes.

      Public companies, the state administration and other stakeholders therefore have an important role to play. The majority of the German population lives in cities - they are therefore incubators of innovation and centres of economic activity. In particular, the integration of digital technologies through sensors harbours many opportunities for intelligent urban development. Ecological aspects must also be taken into account.
