Richard was appointed Chief Risk Officer (“CRO”) for the UK firm and for the UK and Swiss Group on 1 April 2025. He is a member of the Executive Committee and responsible for overseeing KPMG’s approach to risk management and risk culture to meet the demands of our clients, regulators and stakeholders.
Richard joined KPMG as an Audit graduate in 1995. Prior to his appointment as CRO, Richard was a partner in KPMG’s Audit practice, where he specialised in the audits of listed financial institutions. He also has extensive experience of non-audit engagements and has held senior leadership positions on some of the largest and most high profile non-audit engagements within KPMG’s Financial Services practice (including insolvencies, rights issues, transaction support, liquidity and risk reviews).
Richard has considerable experience of UK regulation, including being a Skilled Person on a number of s166 reviews and has held senior leadership roles on reviews commissioned by other global regulators.
