David Mitchell is a Partner in KPMG UK’s Audit practice. David joined KPMG in 2008 and has been an audit RI since 2018, leading the office’s audit practice since 2024. David spent 4 years working in our Leeds office before returning to North East roots in 2018. He has led the audits on some of the North’s largest business’ across the North East and previously Yorkshire. Initially working across the private capital, listed and public sector markets, David very much now focuses on the region’s large growing corporates in the private equity and family business space. He brings deep expertise across a number of sectors and is known for practical, relationship led delivery. He focuses on audit quality, governance and financial reporting whilst providing clear, commercially grounded insights.
Married to Katy, with a young daughter, David lives in the south of our region between Darlington and Stockton. When parenting responsibilities (and the weather) allow, David enjoys time out on the road cycling or occasionally trying to plot his way around a golf course.
