Willie is a Director in KPMG's Controls Assurance practice with over 16 years' experience helping organisations build trust through effective control environments and independent assurance. Passionate about the value that controls assurance can bring, Willie works closely with clients to transform assurance from a compliance exercise into a strategic enabler of growth, customer confidence and operational excellence.
Throughout his career at KPMG, Willie has specialised in IT audit, and Controls Assurance (SOC reporting), leading engagements across a broad range of organisations, from rapidly scaling technology businesses to established financial services institutions. He has extensive experience delivering SOC 1 and SOC 2 engagements, supporting clients throughout their assurance journey, from readiness assessments through to Type I and Type II reporting.
Since 2022 Willie has focused solely on Controls Assurance with extensive experience in supporting technology-enabled businesses, including Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), payments, workforce management and payroll providers, helping them meet the increasing assurance expectations of customers, regulators and stakeholders. He is particularly experienced in working with organisations undergoing periods of rapid growth, assisting them in establishing scalable control frameworks that support both business objectives and assurance requirements.
