Steve is a seasoned leader and engagement partner with more than 30 years of experience building strategy and consulting practices & leading large-scale programs in transaction advisory, strategy and operations consulting.
Steve leads our Global Integration & Separation practice and leads our US Transaction Strategy practice. Steve has passion for leading and delivering various engagement teams through all aspects of the M&A life cycle in deal strategy, operations and synergy diligence, integration and separation, operational carve-out transactions and transformational business process optimization.
Steve's career accolades include:
- Leading a complex bottoms-up business optimization program for a $100B-plus business. Developing benchmark models, establishing new organizational structures, building strategic initiatives, and outlining current state optimization targets.
- Advising clients through post-spin-off Day 1 execution. Building post-Day 1 operating models, managing TSAs, executing critical value creation programs, and defining portfolio management to support post-spin transformation initiatives.
- Leading a large public company carve-out spanning 19 different countries, 25 work-streams, and over 4,000 employees. Including consolidating multiple facilities, registering new products, integrating over 500 shared service employees, and managing complex cultural integration.
- Supporting the global separation efforts of a $15B+ US multinational in divesting a large business unit in a tax-free spin. Building and executing the separation plan for the 35 countries in scope, resulting in a stand-alone publicly traded company.
- Advising a Fortune 50 life sciences company on spinning out their vision and eye care products businesses in a $31B IPO to its shareholders, the largest ever in Europe. The business is heavily entangled, including global shared services across 150 countries. Continuing to support five additional acquisitions and post-closing execution deals.
- Leading a complex transaction including a Fortune 500 carve-out, multi-site business, and private business acquisition merged into a newly formed business. Overseeing two private equity firms and a Fortune 500 company. Managing overall integration strategy, TSAs, and post-close execution.
- Advising a large distribution company on multiple strategic divestitures. Assisting the client in defining various divestiture targets, then leading the overall separation process and Day 1 readiness programs.
- Leading an M&A assessment for a large global public company. Creating and rolling out an end-to-end M&A playbook across the organization.
