Three steps towards improved technology integration

According to Nan Wang, Executive Director and Head of IT, Merck

      • Build a strong infrastructure layer, comprising cloud, on-premises elements if required, and connectivity.

      • Focus on process: move from manual operations to digital processes, integrated where necessary with external processes, especially in customer engagement. This will enable increased innovation.

      • Develope deep data expertise: focus on constant improvement, with foundations such as governance, as well as with tools that generate actionable insight such as analytics and AI.
