Sara Carstensen is a Partner and a State Authorised Public Accountant with more than 20 years of experience in Denmark and the U.S., providing audit and accounting services to global companies. She has worked with listed and non-listed clients in Denmark, listed clients in the U.S., and subsidiaries of international companies. Her expertise includes auditing foreign subsidiaries and working with shared service centres.
Sara is Head of Audit Learning and Development for KPMG Denmark and collaborates with colleagues across the Nordics to foster a diverse learning culture and create an optimal environment for employees to develop their skills.
She holds an MSc in Business Administration and Auditing and is IFRS, PCAOB, and US GAAP accredited. Additionally, she is an Approved Sustainability Auditor.
Sara has extensive experience across various industries, with a particular focus on life sciences, manufacturing, technology, and transport. She has worked with clients regulated by the PCAOB and has deep knowledge of financial reporting under IFRS, the Danish Financial Statements Act, and PCAOB regulations. She also has expertise in internal controls frameworks (COSO), advising clients on implementation and compliance.
Sara is committed to fostering a transparent working environment for both clients and colleagues while ensuring the highest quality in service delivery. She has experience managing multinational teams in group audits and accounting services and believes in leading by example to create a diverse and inclusive culture.
