      Maria Louise Berggreen Pihl is senior manager in KPMG Acor Tax's Global Mobility Tax practice. Maria Louise has more than 9 years of experience advising within International Social Security. Before joining KPMG Acor Tax in 2023, she worked as a special legal adviser at the Danish competent social security administration Udbetaling Danmark, International Social Sikring. This authority is responsible for making decisions on applicable legislation on social security for employees with cross-border activities, including pilots, seafarers, civil servants, and board members. Maria Louise has also worked as a legal adviser in Danish private companies and gained international experience at NATO SHAPE HQ in Belgium.

      Maria Louise provides expert advice on compliance with EU coordination rules and Denmark's bilateral agreements on social security. She ensures employers and employees pay social contributions only in the necessary country and obtains documentation to protect against unnecessary charges and fines. Her expertise extends to safeguarding employee rights to social benefits, including health insurance, worker's compensation, and public pension.

      Her advisory services cover a range of matters, irrespective of business line or complexity, including telework, remote work, offshore, public sector employees, board members, pilots and cabin crew, seafarers, non-EU citizens, self-employed people, and clarification of previous working periods.
