Our impact in Aotearoa New Zealand

KPMG New Zealand’s 2025 Impact Report sets out our Environmental, Social and Governance performance and progress for the year ended 31 December 2025 - and how we are positioning the firm for the future. Guided by our purpose of fuelling prosperity for all New Zealanders, we continued to focus on strengthening trust, building long term capability and responding to evolving economic, regulatory and workforce dynamics. This year, we refined our impact framework to more clearly show where we create external impact, where we build trust and capability, and where further focus is needed. The report provides a transparent view of progress made, momentum maintained, and priorities for the year ahead.

      Introducing our 2025 Impact Report

In this short video, Kaapua Smith, Head of IMPACT & ESG Services at KPMG New Zealand, introduces our latest Impact Report and reflects on how we are embedding impact into how we operate, deliver, and prepare for the future.

      Our impact framework

Building on the framework introduced in 2024, we refined our approach in 2025 to make impact clearer, more focused and more measurable. We now group our material topics into three categories:

      • Impact Drivers
Where KPMG New Zealand can make its strongest external contribution to Aotearoa’s prosperity through our services, partnerships and leadership.
      • Impact Anchors
Where impact is realised primarily within the firm — shaping our people, culture and capability so we can deliver consistently over time.
      • Impact Enablers
The foundations that protect trust, resilience and our licence to operate, including ethics, quality, and data security.

This framework strengthens the link between purpose, strategy and outcomes — and supports a shift from describing activity, to demonstrating impact over time.

The full framework and material topic definitions are available in the Impact Report.
