How we are working with UA92
UA92 is a higher education institution in Stretford, Greater Manchester. UA92 brings together academia, business, and sports to offer students a new approach to education, where individual personal development is valued as highly as academic attainment. This new approach allows students to learn directly from industry and understand how to practically apply their skills and knowledge, whilst developing the character and mindset required for career success. It also enables students to juggle their commitments, inside and outside of university, to help remove some of the barriers that exist for entering and achieving within Higher Education.
The brainchild of the Class of 92 (Gary and Phil Neville, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and Nicky Butt), the new university academy is part of a wider local masterplan led by Trafford Council, which will bring alternative and innovative skills provision to the communities of Stretford and Trafford and to the boroughs of Greater Manchester.
We partnered with UA92 in 2018, sponsoring their social mobility strategy to ensure that the alternative and innovative skills provision that it brings benefits the local communities across Greater Manchester. Our partnership with UA92 is a flagship Corporate Responsibility project for the Manchester office. The partnership is led by a group of committed volunteers who have formed a UA92 Committee that drives day-to-day activity with support from the Corporate Responsibility team and Partner sponsor. Partnership activities span across four key areas:
